What an incredible decoration. The property is so pretty with all the turbines from the days the hotel was a power station, mixed with modern paintings and what not. Really adds to the atmosphere. It's connected to a gastropub which was very convenient in the evening because we were tired and didn't even have to leave the property to have a nice burger and beers(plus live music). The breakfast is amazing, I got myself a delicious eggs benedict with smoked salmon. There was loadshedding but the hotel honors its past and has a generator so we were not left in the dark. Finally, loved the vibe in Thesen Island, the canals, the calm streets, etc.

A very unique and interesting hotel, with all the original turbine machinary very tastefully displayed all over the place.....very cool to wonder around and reflect on the history of Thesen Island and it's original purpose. The hotel is set beautifully between the canals of Thesen island and the entrance to the Knysna lagoon, offering fantastic views. The rooms are extremely comfortable, some offering balconeys overlooking the canals and pool area. Great restuarant on the premises and the most friendly staff encountered in a long time. 😎🤙🇿🇦🇿🇦

One specific person made my vacation great at your hotel. Chloé from the pub. I will tell you exactly what I told her.. "Don't ever change the way you treat or talk to your customers". I see myself in her just starting off life in the most difficult industry. She is an absolute attribute to your hotel. She always has a smile, witty, eager to learn from an "old hospitality dog" like me and sucks everything up like a sponge. Be sure to push her to the full potential she has. Young but tuff. She's got it in her to go very far. Regards Cazz.

The hotel is beautiful and well situated, in walking distance to the square. The staff are well trained and very friendly, especially the receptionists. They make one feel special and welcome. It was my husband”s birthday and the staff made him feel special by celebrating the day with a cake, champagne and a beautiful upgraded room.

Really helpful staff and nice communal areas. The room itself was very comfortable and good value for money by norther European standards. The location was very handy for being able to walk in around Thesen Island (which is very small) and up to the harbour area of Knysna. It felt very safe and secure and had plenty of parking.
